The Way Here

Whether you fly-in over the Kenai Peninsula—the Kenai Mountains rising on one side, the Ring of Fire volcanoes across Cook Inlet on the other, or drive the two-lane road south from Anchorage past the bore tide in Turnagain Arm, through mountain passes, spruce forest, along the winding aquamarine Kenai River, the approach to Soldotna asks something of you. Slow down. Look up. Maybe pull over.

The landscape begins doing something in you before you ever arrive at River Raven Sanctuary.

The Dena’ina people called this land Yaghanen—“the good land.”

Turn left after you cross the bridge in Soldotna. The river is waiting.
